The Cabinet of Ministers has approved new rules for compensation for losses when animals are removed from their owners in the event of outbreaks of dangerous infectious diseases, the government decree of February 1, 2023 says. Under the new rules, the amount of compensation can be reduced if the animal owner did not comply with sanitary requirements.
You can lose part of the payments for actions that can damage biological safety. For example, the government said in a statement, payments can be reduced if the enterprise did not report the loss of livestock to the relevant departments, as well as for the absence of an area at the enterprise where personnel can undergo sanitization (but this does not apply to enterprises where cattle are raised). on open pastures); if the territory of the agricultural enterprise is not fenced, if the biowaste was not disposed of according to the current veterinary standards, if the transport entering the enterprise is not disinfected, and if the animals were transported in the same transport where sick animals were previously transported.
it is forbidden to keep free-ranging pigs and allow them to interact with other animals at the enterprise, the Cabinet said in a statement. It is also forbidden to feed pigs with food waste, as well as to import food products into the territory of enterprises.
Compensation, according to the department, may not be issued at all or reduced to 50%, depending on the number and severity of violations.
