Kazakhstan lifted restrictions on the import of livestock and meat from the Astrakhan region of Russia

Recall that the Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan since August 4, 2016 introduced restrictions on the import into the Republic of Kazakhstan and transit through the territory of the republic from the Russian Federation of cattle and other animals susceptible to lumpy skin disease.

Restrictions also apply to:

genetic material obtained from animals; products obtained from cattle, as well as susceptible species of animals, without proper treatment to ensure the destruction of lumpy skin disease virus; raw hides and skins obtained from the slaughter of cattle and other susceptible animals; used equipment for keeping and transporting cattle and other susceptible animals.

Also, foci of lumpy skin disease were identified in the Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, the Republic of Kalmykia, the Republic of Ingushetia and the Republic of Dagestan.
