President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a law on the ratification of an agreement on the unification of selection work with farm animals in the EAEU. This was announced on Saturday by the press service of the President of the Republic.
"The HEAD of state signed the law "On the ratification of an agreement on measures aimed at unifying the selection and breeding work with farm animals within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union," the message says.
The agreement provides for the development of the pedigree livestock market in the EAEU and the removal of barriers in mutual trade. The purpose of the law is to harmonize the agro-industrial policy for the selection and breeding work. This includes approbation of the created types and breeds of farm animals, molecular genetic examination of breeding products, breed identification and evaluation of their breeding value.
The document also provides for the establishment of a unified procedure for the coordination and analytical support of selection and breeding work in the field of livestock breeding. Coordination will be carried out by the authorized bodies of the EAEU states, and analytical support - by research organizations. The document also provides for the exchange of information on breeding animals and breeding achievements in the EAEU countries.
