Brucellosis was detected in a domestic dog in the village of Novokastornoye, Kastorensky district, Kursk region, according to the website of the regional administration.
The village has been quarantined. it is forbidden to hold agricultural fairs and exhibitions related to animals, the report said.
It is noted that in the Kastorensky district an action plan has been developed to eliminate the epizootic focus of animal brucellosis and prevent the spread of the disease. In addition, veterinarians carry out a re-registration of animals in the village and take samples for research.
Brucellosis is an infection transmitted from sick animals to humans, characterized by multiple lesions of organs and body systems.
