The Russian egg market has recently been experiencing serious turmoil. Egg prices have risen 42% over the past 12 months, driven by rising production costs and limited supply. As a result, the country is experiencing a shortage of eggs, which is creating problems for consumers and food service providers.

"Russia is facing a huge shortage and is asking to buy eggs. We need government intervention. If everything works out, RUSSIA will become a huge market for us," says Vangili Subramaniam, president of the Tamil Nadu Poultry Egg Marketing Society.

India already exports eggs to five countries: Oman, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Qatar and the UAE. However, EXPORT to Russia will be a new important destination for Indian egg producers. According to experts, Russia can import more than 50 containers of eggs per month, which will create significant demand for Indian products.

"Russia is not yet open. it is just an early stage and this will be a huge opportunity. We request the government to speed up the process of establishing ties with Russia. Now there is only dialogue," said Valsan Parameswaran, secretary of the All India Poultry Products Exporters Association (AIPPEA).

However, experts warn that exporting eggs to Russia may not be an easy task. Countries, especially Western countries, have strict food safety requirements and India will need to ensure that its products meet these requirements.

"When it comes to human HEALTH , countries, especially Western countries, are sensitive to the origin and quality of food products. Therefore, India needs to ensure that its eggs meet all the standards and requirements imposed by Russia," said one international trade expert.

Despite these difficulties, the Indian city of Namakkal is determined to seize this opportunity and become a supplier of eggs to Russia. If negotiations are successful, Namakkal could be the answer to Russia's egg shortage and strengthen its position as a global exporter of this product.
