Exports of the capital’s agro-industrial complex (AIC) products to the United States , CANADA and Mexico in 2020 amounted to $49.85 million, which is 7.5% more compared to 2019. This was reported on Wednesday on the official website of the mayor and the government of Moscow.

"The most demanded products of the agro-industrial complex in the region were chocolate and FLOUR confectionery, prepared animal feed, as well as products based on flour and MILK. The United States became the main importer of Moscow products in the region, the volume of exports of capital companies to this country at the end of the year amounted to $ 35 .33 million,” said Vladimir Yefimov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations, whose words are quoted in the message.

He clarified that in 2020 Moscow exported agricultural products to the United States, Canada and Mexico for a total of $49.85 million, which is 7.5% higher than in 2019.

According to the Mosprom EXPORT Support and Development Center, in 2020, among the goods exported to the United States, Moscow ice cream was especially in demand. The amount of deliveries amounted to $8.23 million, which is almost four times more than in 2019. The center noted that such popularity is associated with the high commercial quality of products, which meets the requirements of American consumers. In addition, shipments of chocolate flour and confectionery products, as well as canned fish, to the United States increased last year.

"According to the Mosprom center, exports of agro-industrial products to Mexico in 2020 amounted to $9.8 million. Canada became an equally important importer of capital agro-industrial products in the region. In 2020, exports to this country reached $4.72 million, an increase compared to from 2019 by 8.5%," added Alexander Prokhorov, HEAD of the investment and industrial policy department of the city of Moscow, whose words are also quoted in the message.

According to Natalia Shuvalova, General DIRECTOR of the Mosprom Center, the volume of ice cream exports to Canada increased by 7.9% in 2020 and amounted to $2.51 million.
