EXPORT of poultry MEAT - summary data

The total volume of poultry meat exports from RUSSIA (chicken, turkey and other types of poultry meat) in January-May 2021 amounted to 108.1 thousand tons with a total value of 159.5 million usd. Over the year (by January-May 2020), the export of poultry meat from the Russian Federation in volume decreased by 12.2% (by 15.1 thousand tons).

Including the volume of exports of chicken meat from Russia in January-May 2021 amounted to 102.8 thousand tons. This is 15.4% (18.7 thousand tons) less than in January-May 2020.

The export of turkey meat in January-May 2021 was at the level of 5.1 thousand tons, which  is 225.0%  (by 3.6 thousand tons) more than in the same period a year earlier.

Supplies of other types of poultry meat (goose, duck, guinea fowl) in January-May 2021 were at rather low levels of 0.13 thousand tons. Over the year, they increased by 142.2% (by 0.08 thousand tons).

Export of poultry meat by type and cut

The structure of poultry meat exports by type and cut in January-May 2021, according to AB-Center calculations, was as follows:

- Chicken meat  - 95.1% of all export supplies of poultry meat (102.83 thousand tons), including: Carcasses of broilers and chickens - 12.5% ​​(13.48 thousand tons), deboned chicken meat (without bone ) - 11.8% (12.77 thousand tons), chicken halves and quarters - 0.2% (0.17 thousand tons), chicken wings - 14.0% (15.10 thousand tons), chicken backs, necks and tails - 4.7% (5.12 thousand tons), chicken breasts n / k - 0.3% (0.28 thousand tons), chicken legs - 5.9% (6.34 thousand tons), other chicken meat n / k - 7.4% (8.00 thousand tons), chicken liver - 0.7% (0.72 thousand tons), other offal of chickens - 37.8% (40 .83 thousand tons).

- Turkey meat  - 4.8% of supplies (5.14 thousand tons), including: turkey carcasses - 0.007% (0.01 thousand tons), deboned turkey meat - 0.8% (0.90 thousand tons) tons), turkey meat in cutting, not deboned - 3.8% (4.13 thousand tons), turkey offal - 0.1% (0.11 thousand tons).

- Meat of other poultry (duck, goose, etc.)  - 0.1% of supplies (0.13 thousand tons).

Export of chicken meat from Russia by countries of destination

In January-May 2021, the key buyers of Russian chicken meat were CHINA with volumes of 46.8 thousand tons (45.5% in total supplies according to AB-Center calculations), Kazakhstan - 11.8 thousand tons (11.4% ) and Ukraine - 10.4 thousand tons (10.2 thousand tons).

Also, in January-May 2021, the export of chicken meat from Russia was carried out to such countries as: Ukraine (10.4 thousand tons, 10.2%), Saudi Arabia (7.6 thousand tons, 7.4%), Kyrgyzstan (5.2 thousand tons, 5.0%), Armenia (4.9 thousand tons, 4.8%), Azerbaijan (2.1 thousand tons, 2.1%), Tajikistan (2.1 thousand tons, 2.1%), Vietnam (1.9 thousand tons, 1.8%) and Uzbekistan (1.3 thousand tons, 1.2%). The share of other countries-buyers of Russian chicken meat accounted for 8.7 thousand tons (8.5%).

The main direction of Russian exports of turkey meat in January-May 2021 was Benin, where 1.70 thousand tons or 33.1% of total exports were sent. The second place is occupied by China - 0.76 thousand tons (14.8%), the third - Ukraine with 13.1% of total exports (0.67 thousand tons). The TOP 10 countries buying Russian turkey in January-May 2021 also included the Congo, the Democratic Republic (11.6%), Belarus (6.8%), the United Arab Emirates (5.8%), Gabon (4.8% ), Liberia (4.7%), Angola (1.1%), Hong Kong (1.0%).

The rest of the countries, according to AB-Center, accounted for 3.4% of the total export of turkey meat from Russia.
