Export of beef from Russia in 2021 increased by 2.2 times

Since the beginning of 2021, beef exports from RUSSIA have grown 2.2 times, pork - by 19%, horse MEAT - by 24 times. This is stated in the message of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR .

"According to the Argus Rosselkhoznadzor information system, since the beginning of 2021, as of October 17, 23.7 thousand tons of beef have been sent from Russia abroad, which is 2.2 times more than in the same period last year (then this the indicator was 10.6 thousand tons)," the report says.

As explained in the department, the main buyer of this type of meat is CHINA , where 15.2 thousand tons of products were supplied, which is almost 3 times more compared to the period from January 1 to October 17, 2020. Among the main importers of Russian beef in 2021 is also Kazakhstan, which purchased 1.77 thousand tons of products (an increase of 2.2 times). Saudi Arabia closes the top three countries to which Russia supplies the largest volumes of beef, exports to which amounted to 1.51 thousand tons since the beginning of the year, shipments increased by 34% over the year (from January 1 to October 17, 2020 to Saudi Arabia delivered 1.13 thousand tons).

Rosselkhoznadzor also recorded an increase in pork exports. From January 1 to October 17 of this year, deliveries of these products abroad amounted to 102.8 thousand tons. Over the year, supplies increased by 19% (from January 1 to October 17, 2020, 86.1 thousand tons were supplied). The main importer of pork is Vietnam, where 48.5 thousand tons of meat were sent, which is 40% more than in the same period in 2020 (then this figure was 34.7 thousand tons).

At the same time, the import of pork from abroad to Russia has been declining since the beginning of the year and amounted to 4 thousand tons on October 17, which is 16% less compared to the same period last year (then Russia imported 4.8 thousand tons), noted in Rosselkhoznadzor.

According to the agency, horsemeat exports are also growing. From January 1 to October 17, 2021, shipments of this type of meat abroad increased by 24 times - up to 1.07 thousand tons (for the same period last year, exports amounted to 43 tons). The main buyer of horsemeat is Kazakhstan, 1.01 thousand tons of products were sent there, which is 72 times more compared to the supply volumes from January 1 to October 17, 2020 (only 14 tons were sent then). Another importer of horse meat is Ukraine, to which only 55 tons of meat were shipped (for the same period last year - 29 tons).
