German Agriculture Minister Cem Ozdemir urged Germans to eat less MEAT. He stated this in an interview with Spiegel magazine, noting that RUSSIA "is using its EXPORT power."

Ozdemir said that although he is a vegetarian, he does not invite everyone to follow his example. At the same time, he expressed confidence that eating less meat could be the contribution of the Germans to opposing Russian policy, RIA Novosti reports. The minister also urged the country's citizens to consciously shop in order to throw away less food.

Earlier, the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the EU, Vladimir Chizhov, said that Europeans are facing serious problems due to rising food and energy prices. This was the result of unilateral sanctions that EU countries have imposed on Russia. “The degree of interdependence between Russia and the EU countries, primarily in the trade and economic field, is high enough for such unilateral actions to be painless for the organizers themselves,” Chizhov said.
