The initiative, which will begin in January 2025, will primarily target small farms that have not yet undergone biosecurity audits. Any farm that sold fewer than 1,000 pigs in 2023, as well as wild boar farms, will be eligible for this funding.

The plan includes organizing audits, training auditors, and mobilizing veterinarians to provide advice on best biosecurity practices. This step is crucial to maintaining France's status as an ASF- free country , given the disease's presence in many other countries.
