The epizootic situation in the world for foot-and-mouth disease is quite tense. In 2023, 4 outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease type O were officially registered in CHINA. In the first half of 2024 , foot-and-mouth disease was recorded only on the African continent. Thus, in Libya and Tunisia, foot -and-mouth disease virus serotype O circulated among cattle , serotype VY type SAT2 was detected in the Comoros Islands, and outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease caused by three African serotypes SAT1, SAT2 and SAT3 were recorded in South Africa. Unfortunately, there are frequent cases when the causative agent of foot-and-mouth disease remains untyped (Zimbabwe).

To conduct the tests, a panel of encrypted samples is sent to participating laboratories for testing to detect antibodies to the foot-and-mouth disease virus.

After conducting the relevant studies, the participants in the tests will have to provide the results of individual tests for each encrypted sample to the Federal State Budgetary Institution "ARRIAH". The results provided must meet the testing objectives.

Individual results of each participant will be confidential information and will not be disclosed to any third party. Laboratory staff participating in the qualification testing will receive an individual report with comments on compliance with the selected criterion.

Currently, applications for participation in the ISI have been accepted from 7 countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Mongolia.
