Analysts expect 4.8 million tonnes to be shipped outside the block this year, accounting for 40.7% of global trade in the sector. Similarly, the United States will come in second place with a 25.6% share of exports, although a 6.2% decline is expected compared to 2021. CANADA will take the third place with a share of 12.5% and an EXPORT volume of 1.5 million tons.
In terms of production, CHINA will maintain its dominant position, accounting for 46.2% of global pork production (110.5 million tons), and the expected production will reach 51 million tons, up 7.4% from last year.
it will be followed by the European Union with an expected share of 20.9% and a production volume of 23.2 million tons, down 2.4% from the previous year, while the US will come in third with a share of 11.1%. at the same time, production will amount to 12.3 million tons, a decrease of 2.2% compared to 2021.
The ranking of importing countries will be led by China, which is expected to purchase about 31.9% of the world's imported pork, which is 19.2% less than imports in 2021. Japan is expected to be in second place with a share of 13.2%, while Mexico will be in third place with a share of 10.9% of world pork imports. Notably, Philippine and Vietnamese imports are expected to decline this year by 18.1% and 10%, respectively.
