The EXPORT of agricultural products from the Rostov region at the end of 2023 amounted to $8.5 billion (19.6% of Russia’s total agricultural exports) - 11% more than in 2022. Export shipments of agricultural products from Moscow amounted to $7.9 billion (18.1% of all-Russian agricultural exports), an increase of 30.2% compared to 2022. The region specializes in the production and export of food and processing industry products, with grain crops taking the leading position in supplies. At the same time, Agroexport analysts noted that the structure of supplies from the region is becoming more diversified: the share of wheat decreased by 5.9 percentage points. In 2023, Primorsky Krai shipped $2 billion worth of agricultural products to foreign markets (4.5% of total agricultural exports) - 22% less than a year earlier. The region traditionally specializes in the supply of fish products: in the export structure, more than 77.1% was accounted for by the export of crustaceans, frozen fish, fish fillets and shellfish. Compared to 2019, the region increased supplies by $356.5 million.
Last year, the Moscow region also exported $2 billion worth of agricultural products (4.5%), which is 7% lower than the previous year. 37.8% of supplies came from MEAT and dairy products, 37.1% from food and processing industry products, and 20.6% from other agricultural products. The Moscow region also took third place in the ranking of regions in terms of export growth: compared to 2019, it added $979.4 million.
Exports from the Kaliningrad region last year decreased by 12% and amounted to $1.9 million (4.3% in the total structure of agricultural exports). The region continues to strengthen its specialization in the export of oil and fat products (66.6% of the total exports of agricultural products in the region in 2023 versus 62.1% in 2022) - rapeseed oil and cakes. Compared to 2019, exports in 2023 increased by $604.9 million.
Last year, the Belgorod region shipped agricultural products worth $1.3 billion (3% of agricultural exports from RUSSIA) - 15% less than in 2022. The region specializes in the supply of fat and oil products. Moreover, compared to 2022, its share in exports increased by 4.9 percentage points. up to 80.7% of total agricultural exports. Compared to 2019, deliveries last year increased by $928.8 million.
In 2023, the Kamchatka Territory exported agricultural products worth $1.2 billion (2.6%), improving the previous year’s result by 7%. The basis of supplies - 93.5% - is traditionally fish products (frozenfish , crustaceans, fish fillets, shellfish, etc.). A new region in the top 10 was the Lipetsk region, which last year exported agricultural goods worth $995 million (2.3%) - 33% more than in 2022. The key drivers for the development of external sales of agricultural products in the region are the oil and fat and grain industries. Compared to 2019, the region increased shipments of agricultural products abroad by $623.4 million.
The Murmansk region closes the top ten leading regions in terms of agricultural export volumes with $869 million (2% of the total export volume of the Russian agro-industrial complex). Compared to 2022, exports increased by 10.1% mainly due to increased shipments of crustaceans to CHINA , SOUTH KOREA and Japan. However, compared to 2019, shipments decreased by $187.8 million.
Agricultural exports in 2023 were carried out to more than 150 countries. At the end of the year, China took first place among the leading importers of Russian agricultural products (7.6 billion), Turkey took second place (5 billion).
