On Friday, June 25, the CEO of the holding, Naum Babaev, discussed the implementation of a project for the production of lamb in the North Caucasus with the Governor of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Vladimirov.
Livestock continues to arrive at the Damate site in the village of Achikulak, Stavropol Territory, designed for stall keeping of 14,000 sheep. Suppliers - farms in the region - import both sheep of local breeds and representatives of highly productive crosses grown with the technological support of the service center.
Sheep housing has an advantage over traditional grazing. If the animals are in sheepfolds, then with full feeding, they gain high-quality muscle mass in a relatively short time. Forage is harvested on Damate's agricultural land in the Stavropol Territory.
During the working meeting, Naum Babaev told the governor of the Stavropol Territory about the progress of the fodder campaign. Since June 15, Razdolye LLC has been harvesting meadow hay on an area of 240 hectares. The work will be completed by July 15th. Last week, 70 hectares of forbs were cut and pressed on an area of 50 hectares. The dry matter yield was 2,000 kilograms.
Damate has been implementing a project for the production of lamb in the North Caucasus Federal District since 2018. it provides for the creation of breeding and fattening grounds, the reconstruction of a MEAT processing plant and support for farm sheep breeding by a specially created service company. The holding improves the genetics of the herd.
As part of the project, Damate plans to produce 12.6 thousand tons of lamb per year. Investments in sheep breeding will amount to 2.7 billion rubles. Financing is carried out at the expense of the holding's own funds and loans from the Russian Agricultural Bank.
