Damate Group, Russia's largest turkey producer, intends to continue to strengthen its EXPORT positions in 2022, develop its sales geography, including by entering the ASEAN countries. The plans are to increase the turnover by more than three times, said Rashid Khairov, General DIRECTOR of the company.
Last year, Damate actively developed its export business: the turnover exceeded 2 billion rubles, the volume of deliveries of turkey and duck products over two years increased by more than 10 times to over 14 thousand tons. At the same time, the geography of deliveries expanded from 18 to 31 country. New markets for the company in 2021 are the countries of the Caribbean, Europe, West and East Africa, Central Asia, the Persian Gulf, including Saudi Arabia.
“More than half of the total exports went to African countries: Benin, Congo, Gabon, Liberia and others. Traditionally, large volumes of products were sent to CHINA - about 3 thousand tons, - Khayrov cites the data. — Shipments to the countries of the Middle East and Southeast Asia have grown. The top 10 importers also included Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.”
The range of products supplied abroad includes anatomical parts and semi-finished products from turkey. At the same time, the growth in supplies in monetary terms was affected by the start of exports of high-margin sausage products, which became possible due to the opening of Europe's largest turkey deep processing plant in the Penza region, the top manager clarifies.
In addition, last year the company began supplying duck to the Middle East. The anatomical parts of a duck were sold to a highly profitable HoReCa channel in one of the Persian Gulf countries. Also, an important stage in the development was the start of supplies of branded halal products from turkey abroad.
At the end of 2021, Damate increased turkey production by 33%, up to 200 thousand tons in carcass weight. The positive dynamics is the result of the systematic implementation of the company's turkey-breeding projects in the Penza and Rostov regions. The agricultural holding also produced 11.5 thousand tons of duck MEAT against 300 tons in 2020. In the next rating of "Agroinvestor" of the largest meat producers in the country, "Damate" took 12th place.
The consulting agency Agrifood Strategies previously reported that last year the production of turkey meat in RUSSIA increased by 21.7% and reached 400 thousand tons, which allowed the country to take the third place in the world in the production of this type of poultry after the usa and Germany.
