After the words of Governor Dmitry Artyukhov that Yamal would buy chicken "somewhere far away", the authorities of Noyabrsk amended the city's development strategy. They excluded the development of poultry farming from the goals of their activities. The decision was supported by deputies of the City Duma on August 31, 2023.

On August 31, 2023, the City Duma of Noyabrsk adopted amendments to the city's development strategy until 2030. Plans to create the production of chicken and turkey MEAT were deleted from it . Not only the goal “development of poultry farming” was removed from the document, but also the paragraph in which a specific event was prescribed - the construction of a poultry breeding complex.

“In order to develop the poultry sector in Noyabrsk, it is planned to commission an agricultural complex with a closed production cycle. The agricultural complex will produce poultry meat and eggs . On the basis of production waste, it is planned to grow champignons, as well as the manufacture of pellets, which will be used to heat the agricultural complex, ”the officials of Noyabrsk planned earlier.

In August, Governor Dmitry Artyukhov, at a meeting with residents, said that the regional authorities do not have a program that would help produce chicken

“We live in the Far North. We are developing traditional industries - fish, reindeer breeding. If you knew how much the true cost of this deer meat, you would be scared. But there are a lot of subsidies so that our reindeer herder, if he works well, has a decent income. There are 450 rubles of subsidies in each kilogram of venison . Our task is to produce gas and to ensure that those who produce gas live comfortably, their children go to good schools and kindergartens. And we will buy chicken somewhere far away,” Mr. Artyukhov shared his vision.
