According to the association, in March there was a drop in prices for 18 out of 25 categories of essential goods. In particular, the most noticeable price reduction affected chicken eggs (-14%), millet (-13.6%), wheat FLOUR (-13%), SALT (-12.5%) and rice (-12%). MILK (-8.6%), wheat bread (-8.3%) and butter ( -7.9%) also fell in price.
On the other hand, prices for beets (+7.2%) and potatoes (+6.9%) increased, which is due to the growth of purchase prices for these products. The average markup on socially significant products of the "first price" in March also decreased by 0.5 percentage points, amounting to 4.4%. At the same time, Rosstat recorded a general increase in prices for food products by 0.83% compared to February, and inflation expectations of Russians slightly increased to 13.1% in April.
