According to the latest data from Rosstat, as of March 18, 2022, when compared with the values ​​of a week and a month ago, food prices by type in RUSSIA show a significant increase. The AB-Center analyzed the weekly dynamics of prices for 44 products, of which only one product has a decrease both for the week and for the month.

To a greater extent, the increase in prices over the week, according to AB-Center, affected such food products as granulated SUGAR (+13.8%), onions (+13.6%), fresh tomatoes (+8.2%), bananas (+7.8%) and fresh white cabbage (+6.4%).

Food products showing the lowest price increase in a week

Relatively low price strengthening over the week affected boiled sausage (+0.3%), chicken MEAT (+0.5%), semi-smoked and boiled-smoked sausage (+0.6%), whole frozen fish (+0.7% ) and vodka (+0.7%).

Food items that have dropped in price in a week

As for the price reduction, it affected only fresh cucumbers (-6.6%).

Over the month, a significant increase in prices affected the following products: fresh tomatoes (+34.4%), granulated sugar (+33.1%), bananas (32.3%), onions (+17.8%) and white cabbage fresh (+14.8%).

Food products showing the lowest price increase in a month

To a lesser extent, prices for chicken meat (+0.7%), boiled sausage (+1.3%), semi-smoked and boiled-smoked sausage (+1.6%), sausages and sausages (+1.6 %), lamb on the bone (+1.7%).

Over the month, only fresh cucumbers decreased in price (-8.1%). The weakening of prices for cucumbers is associated with seasonal factors (an increase in the supply of greenhouse products during this period).
