EXPORT revenues from the high value-added segment are also record-breaking. In total, US $240 million were received in the twelve months of 2023 , 34.2% higher than the total amount received in 2022, which is US$178.8 million.

In December 2023 alone, 2.5 thousand tons were exported, 45.1% more than the 1.7 thousand tons shipped in the same period in the twelfth month of the previous year. At the same time, revenues amounted to US$20.2 million, 2.2% higher than in the same comparable period in 2022 (US$19.8 million).

Mexico, the main export destination for the Brazilian poultry genetics sector, imported a total of 13.5 thousand tons in 2023, 72.7% higher than the 2022 figure. They are followed by Senegal with 3.7 thousand tons (+11.7%), Paraguay with 2.7 thousand tons (-2%), South Africa with 2.3 thousand tons (no comparative records in 2022) and Peru with 1.4 thousand tons (+838.8%).

“The strong performance of the poultry genetics export sector in 2023 is an important indicator of international confidence in the biosecurity of the poultry industry in Brazil. On the other hand, it also shows the growing relevance of the Brazilian sector as a safe haven for countries facing HEALTH problems and the need to replace formulations,” emphasizes Ricardo Santin, President of ABPA.
