it was told here that two types of anthrax vaccines are used in the work - for adult animals and for young animals. The vaccine is also reported to confer immunity against emphysematous carbuncle.
“The introduction of drugs causes the formation of an immune response to the causative agent of anthrax in ten days,” the department notes. “The duration of vaccination in young cattle is from 3 to 6 months, and in adult animals it is at least 1 year,” the Veterinary Department said.
The Veterinary Administration also reported that after vaccination, the animal may have an increase in body temperature, and MILK from vaccinated animals can be used without restrictions, except in cases of post-vaccination complications. In this case, the milk should be boiled.
But the slaughter of an animal that has been vaccinated against anthrax is allowed no earlier than after 10 days.
“When an animal is forced to be slaughtered , the MEAT must be subjected to heat treatment, and in case of death, the animal’s corpse must be burned,” the press service of the regional veterinary department noted.
