In January-April 2021, enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of Belarus purchased agricultural products from the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) for a total of 364.4 million Belarusian rubles, which is 1.5 times more than the same indicator last year. This was reported by the press service of BUCE.
Oilseed meal is traditionally the most demanded group of goods. They accounted for more than 40% of the total volume of purchases of agricultural products, or 153.4 million Belarusian rubles. The growth rate was 139%. Second place was taken by feed additives with a transaction value of 69 million Belarusian rubles. Compared to January-April 2020, the sales volume almost doubled in value terms and by 64% in real terms. In third place is raw cow 's MILK , which since 2019, domestic dairies have the opportunity to purchase on the stock exchange. The amount of transactions with this product increased by 17%, to 39.7 million Belarusian rubles, while physical volumes added 8%. Vegetable oils, MEAT products and cereals were also in high demand among Belarusian agricultural enterprises.
“Currently, the agricultural sector is in a phase of recovery growth, which has a positive effect on the activity of agricultural enterprises on the stock exchange. If we look at the statistics, then following the results of four months, the number of transactions in the agricultural products section almost doubled. The opportunity to purchase raw materials at better prices than on the over-the-counter market, due to the high level of competition between suppliers, also has a stimulating effect. For example, in January-April, domestic agricultural enterprises and poultry farms saved over 1.6 million Belarusian rubles on oilseed meal alone,” the BUCE press service commented.
JSC "Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange" was established in 2004, the first trading took place on June 2, 2005. As of May 1, 2021, 25.84 thousand companies are accredited on the exchange, of which 5.14 thousand are non-residents from 63 countries.
