African swine fever approaches the borders of Bashkiria

African swine fever is approaching the borders of Bashkiria, the Department of Veterinary Medicine for the Republic reports.

To date, 210 foci of African swine fever have been registered in 35 regions of RUSSIA, including those neighboring Bashkiria. So, since the beginning of the year, the disease has been registered in Tatarstan, Mari El, Saratov and Samara regions. In late September and early October, there were outbreaks in the border areas of the Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions and the Perm Territory.

Together with the regional ROSSELKHOZNADZOR, the Department of Veterinary Medicine conducts quarterly commission inspections of pig breeding enterprises for compliance with the rules for keeping pigs. As of October 1, 1406 product samples were tested for African swine fever.

it is noted that the lethality of this disease in animals reaches 98%. The disease has a lightning-fast spread, therefore, all susceptible livestock are slaughtered, then the corpses are burned.

Recall that recently bird flu was first registered on the territory of Bashkiria. Quarantine was introduced in the Tuymazinsky district.
