MINSK . A local resident contacted the Kobrin police and said that she had been deceived by an acquaintance to whom she had entrusted her
money . Details of the incident were reported to BELTA by the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.
Law enforcement officers found out that the 32-year-old man knew the victim’s son, who is currently in prison. One day he visited a 60-year-old pensioner and offered her help in resolving the issue of reclassifying the criminal case brought against her son.
The woman trusted an acquaintance and gave about $300. Later, the man deceived the townswoman several more times, convincing her to transfer additional funds to him. When the woman realized the deception, she contacted the police. The total damage amounted to Br5 thousand.
During communication with law enforcement officers, the man admitted to his crime and stated that he had spent the money on
ALCOHOL . He is in custody. Previously, the defendant was prosecuted for robbery.
