A resident of the Ivanovo district became a defendant in a criminal case for torturing his mother

February 14, Brest. The prosecutor of the Ivanovsky district sanctioned the detention of the person involved in the criminal case on the torture of his mother, BelTA learned from the information service of the prosecutor's office of the Brest region.

A criminal case under Part 1 of Article 154 of the Criminal Code was initiated by the Ivanovo District Department of the Investigative Committee against a 32-year-old unemployed local resident. According to the case file, from May to December 2022, a man, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication , systematically beat a 54-year-old mother during family quarrels.

it is noteworthy that on May 26, 2022, the defendant was already convicted by the COURT of the Ivanovsky district for intentionally inflicting light bodily injury on his mother. A criminal case of private prosecution on this fact was then initiated by the prosecutor of the Ivanovsky district. Apparently, the man did not draw conclusions for himself about the consequences of unlawful behavior.

The choice of a preventive measure in the form of detention is authorized taking into account the nature of the crime and the circumstances of its commission, the regional prosecutor's office noted.
