Today, at about 17:00, a fatal traffic accident occurred on the 6th km of the Zhodino-Deniski highway in the direction of Zhodino.

According to preliminary data, the 40-year-old driver of a Renault, while intoxicated (1.92 ppm), hit a 70-year-old female cyclist. The pensioner was driving along the edge of the roadway in the same direction.

After the collision, the driver left the scene of the accident without attempting to provide first aid to the victim.

As a result of the injuries she sustained, she died at the scene. As it was established later, the deceased was also intoxicated.

The driver was detained by the State Traffic Inspectorate. The State Traffic Inspectorate and an investigative task force are working at the scene of the accident. All the circumstances of the incident are being established and an investigation is being conducted.
