The incident occurred on the evening of June 1 in the agricultural town of Bocheykovo. Male born 1994 celebrated a friend's birthday, then he and his friend went for a swim. As an acquaintance of the deceased explained, he jumped into the water from the shore and did not emerge back.
The young man called rescuers after unsuccessful attempts to find his acquaintance. The body of the drowned man was removed from the river by OSVOD workers on the afternoon of June 2.
Investigative authorities are conducting an investigation.
