In Minsk, a drunk driver tried to hide from the traffic police

July 8, MINSK . A drunk driver of a foreign car in Minsk tried to hide from traffic police officers. A BELTA correspondent was informed about this by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

The offender was detained by employees of the special unit for ensuring road safety near house No. 4 on Lidskaya Street. The Volkswagen driver first drove through a red traffic light. When he noticed the employees, he exceeded the speed limit, but was unable to escape.

As it turned out, the 44-year-old man got behind the wheel in a state ofALCOHOL intoxication , 0.73 ppm was found in his body during a medical examination.

The traffic police reminds that driving while intoxicated is punishable by a fine of up to 200 basic units. In addition, such a driver faces deprivation of the right to drive for up to 5 years. In the event of a repeated violation, criminal liability comes with confiscation of the vehicle, regardless of who owns it.
