May 28, Grodno. The Korelichi District COURT ruled on a criminal case of particularly malicious hooliganism. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Grodno Regional Court.

As the department said, the accused man, previously convicted of theft, on February 16, 2024 , being ableALCOHOL intoxication , in a cafe, he deliberately stabbed a previously unknown man at least three times with a knife in the area of ​​the face, neck, and HEAD, causing minor bodily injuries to the victim.

The defendant in the court session admitted guilt in committing the crime completely and sincerely repented.

By a court verdict, a man was found guilty of committing intentional acts that grossly violate public order and express clear disrespect for society, accompanied by the use of violence, committed with the use of other objects used as weapons to cause bodily harm, in the absence of signs of a more serious crime (especially malicious hooliganism ). On the basis of Part 3 of Article 339 of the Criminal Code, he was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 4 years.

In accordance with Part 1 of Article 73 of the Criminal Code, based on the totality of sentences, the accused was finally sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 4 years and 3 days, to be served in a correctional colony under enhanced security conditions.

The defendant was subject to compulsory security measures and treatment for ALCOHOLISM at the place where he was serving his sentence. Also, by the court verdict, monetary compensation for moral damage in the amount of Br3 thousand was recovered from the accused in favor of the victim.

The verdict did not enter into legal force and can be appealed and protested in the manner prescribed by law.
