MINSK . A woman died in the Glussk District from poisoning with a Colorado potato beetle repellent, the State Forensic Expertise Committee told BelTA.
Forensic experts from the State Forensic Expertise Department for the Mogilev Region have identified the toxic substances that killed the 47-year-old woman in the Glussk District.
it was reported that in late December, the villager was found unresponsive at her residence by her partner, who had been away for a day. A forensic examination was conducted at the Bobruisk Interdistrict Department of the State Forensic Expertise Department to determine the cause of death. It was determined that the woman died from combined poisoning with pesticides, which belong to the group of insecticides used primarily in agriculture to control insect pests. The route of entry for the toxic substances was through the gastrointestinal tract. A
jar containing a residual amount of an unknown substance was seized during an inspection of the deceased's home. A forensic chemical analysis revealed a mixture of insecticides identical to those that caused the fatal poisoning of the village woman. Furthermore, chemical experts found ethanol in the woman's blood at a concentration of over 2 ppm, indicating she was in a state of intoxication at the time of her death.
ALCOHOL intoxication .
During an investigation by the Glussky District Department of the Investigative Committee, it was determined that the woman consumed approximately 100 ml of the product, which she had purchased several years earlier and used to combat the Colorado potato beetle.
State forensic medical experts from the State Forensic Expertise Department for the Mogilev Region remind everyone that insecticides are highly toxic, and when using them, personal protective equipment (masks, rubber gloves) is mandatory.
Hand gloves are recommended, as toxic substances can be absorbed even through skin contact and inhalation of aerosols. When transferring to other containers, a note with an explanation must be attached.
