March 29, Brest. A drunk driver caused an accident in Brest, BelTA learned from the police department of the regional executive committee.

The accident happened today at about 10.40 am at the intersection of Pionerskaya and Voykov streets. According to preliminary information, a 51-year-old driver in a Kia car collided with a passing SKODA car, after which he left the roadway, demolished the fence and ran into green spaces. As a result of the accident, no one was injured, the cars received mechanical damage, two spans of the fence were broken.

it was established that the Kia driver was in a state of alcoholic intoxication: according to a medical examination, there was 2.7 ppm of ALCOHOL in the air he exhaled. Administrative materials have been drawn up against the violator, including for driving while intoxicated .

The State traffic inspectorate draws attention: on behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs, police officers are aimed at a principled and tough assessment of the actions of citizens who commit gross violations of traffic rules. Drunk driving is subject to a fine of up to 200 basic units with deprivation of the right to drive for up to five years. For a repeated violation during the year, a similar violation threatens criminal liability with confiscation of the vehicle.
