February 15, MINSK. In Belarus, in 2022, the total number of detected crimes increased by 1%. At the same time, in particular, the number of murders, hooliganism, extortion has decreased, BelTA was told in the Prosecutor General's Office following the results of the collegium of the supervisory agency chaired by Prosecutor General Andrei Shved.

For example, murders with attempts on them decreased by 15.8%, intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm - by 5.6%, robberies - by 2.8%, extortion - by 8.8%, hooliganism - by 9.2% . The number of cases of driving a vehicle by a person in a state of intoxication decreased by 27.6%, by 16.1% - intentional destruction or damage to property, by 13.6% - theft of property by modifying computer information. There were 7.6% fewer crimes committed by persons with a criminal record.

At the same time, the number of grave and especially grave crimes, crimes committed while intoxicated (+1.8%) and by a group of persons (+11%), crimes related to domestic violence (+4%) increased by 10.7%. ). As for specific trains, there were more thefts (+1.1%), fraud (+55.6%), vehicle thefts (+7.5%).

A significant number of crimes were committed by unemployed and non-students. The number of crimes committed by minors increased by 9.8%, while they committed more serious and especially serious crimes by 33%. However, the total number of juveniles who committed crimes has decreased. Last year, the prosecution authorities implemented a set of organizational and practical measures to strengthen law and order, which made it possible to ensure an appropriate level of public security in the country.
