December 14, Vitebsk. Students of Vitebsk secondary school No. 45 were told at a preventive lesson by police officers how to properly ride on a snow slide, relax in nature, and spend the New Year holidays as safely as possible, BELTA correspondent reports.

“The main risk factors for children during the holidays are related to winter active recreation. Tubing, ice-skating and sledding should be safe for children who, as a rule, do not control themselves during the game and lose their vigilance. In the same way, playing on frozen bodies of water can lead to tragedy,” Veronika Suvorova, senior inspector for special assignments of the Inspectorate for Minors of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, outlined the main points of the preventive conversation before the start of the lesson.

The guys, who are already planning how and where they will spend their holidays, willingly answered questions, telling what they themselves know. Near secondary school No. 45 there are many natural slides, and some of them overlook the roadway. Boys and girls vied with each other to tell which ones they could have fun with, and which ones you shouldn’t even approach.

Ice on water bodies in winter is treacherous and fraught with many dangers. “You can’t even go out onto a small pond, especially if there are no adults next to you. You can’t go and play on the ice alone or with friends and peers; there are enough playgrounds and parks for this,” the senior inspector emphasized.

Veronica Suvorova spoke about other important points. The festive feast for adults is accompanied by strong drinks, and minors are prohibited from drinkingALCOHOL. For being in a public place in a statealcohol intoxication and drinking alcoholic beverages, including low-alcohol ones, children under 18 years of age fall under administrative responsibility. In addition, unaccompanied children under 16 years of age cannot be on the street after 23.00; this will also entail liability and registration with the juvenile affairs inspectorate.

OnNew Year some guys really like to play with firecrackers, throwing them at the feet of passers-by. Such actions, as noted by the senior inspector, constitute hooliganism. For this you can receive a fine of up to 8 basic units (1 BV - Br37). Fireworks and other pyrotechnics should be launched in safe places - away from passers-by who could be harmed by explosions and sparks. Every year, unfortunately, several cases of victims of such pranks are recorded.

During the holidays, schoolchildren continue to attend various hobby groups, which are not always within walking distance and take place at different times, including in the evenings. Young residents of Vitebsk told how they get to art schools, whether they wear flickers, what kind they are, and whether they always follow traffic rules when crossing the road along a zebra crossing. “It is best to wear reflective elements in the form of strips that are attached to the sleeve in the dark. They are visible to drivers driving towards you or behind you. And various flicker figures do not always come to the attention of motorists,” recommended Veronika Suvorova, recalling that on the roadway you need to be especially vigilant, not cross the road at a red light and take into account that in winter the braking distance of cars increases significantly.

After the safety lesson, the guys shared their impressions. Alexandra Shaldenkova will spend the winter vacation with her family - the whole family is going to go to MINSK to the water park. Security issues are also important to her. “When I cross the road, I always look both ways, even if the traffic light is green, because there are drivers who don’t always brake on time,” noted a student from school No. 45.

Sixth-grader Arseny Soloviev plans to be at home during the holidays. He already knew almost all the recommendations and advice of the chief inspector, and hisparents regularly remind him how to behave at home and on the street in order to save life and a>. “The main thing I learned is to be careful when tubing, and also that you shouldn’t play around with firecrackers, it can cause harm to you and other people,” summed up the student.HEALTH
