The Leninsky District Court of Grodno passed a verdict in a criminal case regarding the desecration of the Eternal Flame

Prosecutor General's Office April 1, Grodno. The Leninsky District COURT of Grodno ruled on a criminal case of hooliganism committed on the night of January 22. A BELTA correspondent was told about this by the press service of the Grodno Regional Court.

As noted in the press service, the man on the night of January 22, 2024 , being in a stateALCOHOL intoxication at the Mass Grave of Soviet soldiers and partisans in Grodno, located in the city park named after Zhiliber, deliberately, out of hooligan motives, relieved himself on the flame of the Eternal Flame.

At the court hearing, the accused fully admitted his guilt in the crime and sincerely repented.

By a court verdict, the defendant was found guilty of deliberate actions that grossly violate public order and express clear disrespect for society, distinguished by their content by exceptional cynicism (hooliganism). On the basis of Part 1 of Article 339 of the Criminal Code, he was sentenced to two years of restriction of freedom and sent to an open correctional facility.

The court's verdict has not entered into legal force and can be appealed and protested in the prescribed manner.
