a href="/incident/view/rybak-utonul-v-brestskom-rajone-478686-2022/">As BelTA reported, on the evening of January 9, rescuers received a message about the disappearance of a 39-year-old resident of the agricultural town of Znamenka. According to relatives, the man went fishing and did not return. During search and rescue operations on a lake near the urban village of Domachevo, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations discovered and removed the body of a villager without signs of life from the water.

"With the involvement of specialists from the department of the State Forensic Examination Committee for the Brest region, an inspection of the scene was carried out, eyewitnesses and relatives of the deceased were interviewed. A forensic medical examination was appointed to establish the exact cause of the man's death," the UK said.

Investigators remind of the need to comply with safety rules on water bodies in winter: it is forbidden to go out on the ice at night, with poor visibility and while intoxicated . Also, you can’t go out on thin, fragile ice, come close to reeds and flooded bushes (near them the ice is thinner), be careful and beware of gullies in places with a fast current.
