Drunken lawless person in Vorsha was stopped by shooting at the wheels

January 31, Vitebsk. Tonight in Orsha, a drunk driver without a license tried to escape from the traffic police, who were able to stop the offender by shooting through the wheels of the car. This was reported to a BelTA correspondent by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

The message about the violator was received by the Orsha District Department of Internal Affairs on the night of January 31. Near the village of Antonovka on the highway Vitebsk - Gomel - the border of Ukraine, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf ignored the repeated demands of the traffic police and tried to escape.

To stop the vehicle, traffic police inspectors used weapons.

A 33-year-old resident of the village of Puglyai was driving a foreign car. Visually, the traffic police identified signs of intoxication in him, which was confirmed by the results of a medical examination: the concentration of ethyl ALCOHOL vapor in the exhaled air was more than 2 ppm.

Several administrative protocols were drawn up against the driver, including for driving while intoxicated .

"Over the past year, more than 17.5 thousand drivers who were driving under the influence of alcohol were detained. Through their fault, 282 accidents occurred, in which 82 people died and 325 were injured," the UGAI noted.
