The prosecutor's office of the Grodno region revealed the facts of the sale of alcohol to minors

June 15, Grodno. The prosecutor's office of the Grodno region checked the implementation of legislation on the prevention of drunkenness among adolescents. This was reported to BelTA in the press service of the prosecutor's office of the Grodno region.

In the Grodno region in 2022, 59 administrative offenses were registered under part 4 of article 13.11 of the Code of Administrative Offenses related to the sale of alcoholic, low-alcohol drinks, beer, as well as tobacco products, electronic smoking systems to minors. 52 perpetrators were brought to justice for their commission.

The study of cases of administrative offenses of this kind showed that, as a rule, violations of the rules of trade entailed the commission of unlawful acts by minors in a state ofALCOHOL intoxication . Cases were revealed when, when selling alcoholic, low-alcohol drinks and beer to minors, sellers took into account the passport photos that teenagers showed them on their phones. Such images were previously modified using special computer programs. Most of all such offenses were committed by the sellers of CJSC "Dobronom" ("Kopechka", "Mayak"), "Evrotorg", the Grodno Regional Consumer Society, ChTUP "ZapadKhimTorg".

Often, employers were not aware of the facts of gross violations of trade rules by their employees. This means that the authorities conducting the administrative process did not bring information about the revealed facts to the attention of the heads of trade enterprises. Accordingly, the perpetrators were not brought to disciplinary responsibility at the place of work. In a number of cases, alcoholic, low-alcohol drinks and beer were repeatedly sold to minors.

Based on the results of the inspection, the Prosecutor's Office of the Grodno Region submitted a submission to the Deputy Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, in which it demanded to eliminate violations in the field of prevention of drunkenness among adolescents, as well as the causes and conditions that contributed to this.
