December 24, MINSK. Law enforcement officers of the Minsk region have switched to an enhanced version of their service. BelTA was informed about this by the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
“Police officers of the Minsk region are ready to ensure the protection of public order in the places where the Christmas and New Year holidays are held. 120 events dedicated to the Nativity of Christ according to the calendar of the Catholic denomination are planned for the upcoming weekend in the Minsk region,” the police department said. “The service will be organized in an enhanced mode. The State Traffic Inspectorate squads are close to the places of mass events to ensure road safety, routes are organized to bypass areas where traffic will be limited, as well as timely informing about all changes in the organization of traffic."
In crowded places for safety, the passage will be carried out through checkpoints. "We remind you: in accordance with the law on holding mass events, visitors are prohibited from carrying cold, firearms, gas or other weapons, explosives and ammunition. To avoid injury, the use of pyrotechnic products is prohibited at the venues of planned events. For a comfortable stay, we recommend coming to places of events in advance. People who are in a state of alcoholic intoxication will not be allowed to the places of mass events. In case of discovery of orphan or suspicious items, it is necessary to immediately inform the internal affairs authorities about this," law enforcement officers added.
