Law enforcement officers confiscated 177 liters of unmarked
ALCOHOL from a resident of Ivatsevichi, BELTA learned from the Brest Regional Executive Committee Department of Internal Affairs.
The traffic police and the UIM officers of the Ivatsevichi District Department of Internal Affairs detained a 40-year-old local resident who was transporting
alcohol not marked in the established manner with excise stamps of the Republic of
Belarus .
During the inspection of the BMW car belonging to the defendant
Law enforcement officers found and seized 162 liters of Finlandia vodka in 3-liter tetra packs without excise stamps or accompanying documents, as well as 15 liters of alcohol in 5-liter plastic canisters. The offender explained that he had purchased the alcohol allegedly for his own needs in Brest from a person he clearly knew. Administrative protocols were drawn up
against
the man under Part 1 of Article 13.20 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offenses (production (manufacturing), movement through the territory of the Republic of Belarus and circulation of counterfeit alcoholic beverages), the sanction of the article provides for a fine in the amount of 100 to 200 basic units with confiscation of counterfeit alcoholic beverages, and under Part 3 of Article 13.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus (movement by an individual who is not an individual entrepreneur of more than 5 liters of non-food alcohol-containing products), the sanction of the article provides for a fine in the amount of 10 to 100 basic units with confiscation.
The police reminded that import into the country, movement through its territory and storage of alcoholic beverages not marked in the established manner with excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus, without accompanying documents, or trade in such beverages are prohibited.
