November 28, Brest. Brest customs officers stopped the illegal import of a consignment of wine into the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, BelTA informs with reference to the Brest customs.

A DAF truck driven by a Polish carrier crossed the border at the Kozlovichi checkpoint. The documents indicated the movement of chocolate. However, during customs control with the use of the inspection complex, it turned out that the cargo was different - about 13.5 thousand bottles of wine. This product was valued at about Br280 thousand.

"The non-declaration of such a quantity of goods could serve as a basis for exemption from customs payments in the amount of more than Br18,000," Brest customs noted.

Brest customs started an administrative process under part 1 of article 15.5 (non-declaration or submission of false information about goods) of the Code of Administrative Offenses and part 2 of article 13.18 (movement of alcoholic beverages not duly labeled with excise stamps of Belarus) of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
