Almost 50 lawless people detained in Vitebsk region over the weekend

April 26, Vitebsk. Almost 50 drivers who got behind the wheel without a driving license were detained in the Vitebsk region over a long weekend. This was reported to a BelTA correspondent by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

In total, 50 accidents with material damage were registered on the roads of the northern region from April 22 to April 25. In Vitebsk itself, 11 of them took place. In addition, traffic police officers detained 47 disenfranchised and 26 drunk motorists who were driving.

Inspectors paid special attention to pedestrians - more than 200 people were brought to administrative responsibility for traffic violations. Almost 40 of them were in a stateALCOHOL intoxication , and another 86 moved at night without flickers.

The traffic police reminds all road users of the need to be attentive and careful. Drivers should choose a safe speed and distance from the vehicles in front. Pedestrians are also required to strictly comply with the traffic rules and do not forget about the use of retroreflective elements.
