3 February, Mogilev. The Mogilev Regional COURT has reviewed the criminal case against a Mogilev resident who set his partner's arms and legs on fire, BelTA learned from the press service of the Mogilev Regional Court.

On 11 July last year, the accused was in a state ofALCOHOL intoxication . Due to jealousy, he had a conflict with his common-law wife, during which he deliberately poured industrial alcohol on the woman's arms and legs, and then set them on fire with matches. As a result, the woman experienced prolonged suffering. She has 1-2 degree burns covering about 10% of her body surface.

At the court hearing, the accused fully admitted his guilt in committing the crime and repented of his actions. By the court's verdict, he was found guilty of intentionally causing prolonged pain by means causing special physical and mental suffering. On the basis of Part 1 of Article 154 of the Criminal Code, he was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of two years, to be served in a general regime penal colony without a fine. it was decided, in accordance with Part 1 of Article 107 of the Criminal Code, to apply compulsory treatment

for chronic ALCOHOLISM to the accused . The verdict has entered into legal force.
