Drunk driver in Gomel district hits pedestrian, he dies in hospital

June 9, Gomel. In the Gomel district, a drunk driver hit an 86-year-old pedestrian, who died in hospital, BELTA was told in the agitation and propaganda department of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee.

The traffic accident occurred in the morning of June 7 in Pesochnaya Buda. According to the State Automobile Inspectorate, the 63-year-old driver of the Mercedes, who was in a state ofALCOHOL intoxication , lost control, drove onto the side of the road, where he hit a person - he was outside the roadway.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate reminded:a drunk driver is a potential killer on the road. "If you notice a driver in a state of alcohol intoxication, call 102. In this way, you will save the lives of other road users. By ignoring the situation, you indirectly become an accomplice to what a drunk driver can do on the road," the road guards noted.
