A drunk driver killed a teenager in the Smolevichi region. SK spoke about the circumstances of the tragedy

September 14, MINSK . The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Minsk Region established the circumstances of the accident, which resulted in the death of a teenager. BELTA was informed about this by the Investigative Committee.

According to investigators, on the evening of July 2, a 37-year-old Audi driver was driving along Dorozhnaya Street in the village of Shipany, Smolevichi District. Near house No. 1, a man lost control and drove off the road, where he hit a 13-year-old girl. The driver fled the scene and left the teenager unconscious. A couple of hours later he came to the police and told about what had happened. Despite the efforts of doctors, the girl died in hospital from her injuries.

it was established that the driver got behind the wheel while intoxicated and was driving at a speed of about 60 km/h at the time of the accident. In addition, the car was technically faulty. During interrogation, the accused said that he knew about the malfunction, but still got behind the wheel. Investigative actions and analysis of expert research findings showed that the accused could have seen the teenager in advance and taken emergency braking measures to avoid a collision.

Based on the results of the investigation, the driver was charged under two articles of the Criminal Code: Part 4 of Article 317 (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a vehicle in a state ofALCOHOL intoxication , resulting in the death of a person through negligence) and Part 3 of Article 159 (deliberate leaving in danger, committed by a person who, through negligence, put the victim in a condition dangerous to life or HEALTH).

With the sanction of the prosecutor, a preventive measure in the form of detention was applied to the man.
