April 27, MINSK . At work, 75% of fatal accidents are caused by the human factor, DIRECTOR of the Department of State Inspection of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Alexander Semich told BelTA.
"For all fatal accidents, a special investigation is carried out by state labor inspectors. Last year, 22% of accidents occurred solely due to the fault of employers - when the employer did not provide safe working conditions. Almost 30% of accidents - deaths - occurred solely due to the fault of employees. That is, when the employee could and was obliged to foresee the consequences of his act, but for some reason ignored the requirements known to himsecurity. Another 23% is the so-called mixed liability, when both parties are to blame at the same time: the employer did not provide something, the employee violated something. it turns out that 75% of fatal accidents are caused by the human factor, - said Alexander Semich. - That is, these 75% of accidents, in principle, can be eliminated. Moreover, this does not require any colossal material costs, we are talking about what has already been said in Decree No. 5 of the President on compliance with labor and technological discipline.
The director of the department added that last year almost 17% of the dead were in a state ofALCOHOL intoxication .
