September 25, MINSK . A Minsk resident was sentenced to 14 years in prison for attempting to murder two guys, the Minsk prosecutor's office told BELTA.

The COURT found that on November 13 last year, a 33-year-old Minsk resident and a friend were drinking ALCOHOL at the entrance of one of the houses on Plekhanov Street in Minsk at about 4 o’clock in the morning. After some time, their attention was attracted by a company of three young people who were passing by and listening to music loudly. The remark made escalated into a verbal conflict that lasted for half an hour. At this time, the accused went up to his apartment, took a knife and returned to the street.

A few minutes later, a fight broke out between one of the guys and the second man. Two young men approached to resolve the conflict, but the accused stabbed each of them in the neck in turn. The victims left the scene and were promptly provided with medical assistance.

During interrogation, the defendant did not dispute the circumstances of the incident, but insisted that he had no intent to kill. He allegedly feared for his friend’s HEALTH and misjudged the surrounding situation due to the suddenness of the events. However, his words are refuted by the testimony of the victims and the recording of a video surveillance camera installed at the entrance of a residential building, noted state prosecutor Alina Kasyanchik.

At the time of the crime the man was able toalcohol intoxication , the presence of more than two ppm of alcohol in his blood was determined. Previously, he was repeatedly prosecuted, but all convictions were expunged in accordance with the procedure established by law.

The accused was found guilty of attempted intentional deprivation of life of two persons. According to the decision of the Minsk City Court, he will serve his sentence in a maximum security colony.

The court's verdict has not entered into legal force and can be appealed and appealed.
