April 11, MINSK . A significant number of juvenile crimes are committed in groups, some of them under the influence of ALCOHOL or drugs. This was reported to BelTA by the Investigative Committee.

For example, on March 5, a 50-year-old resident of Zhodino invited a company of ten young guys to his hostel to have fun. The rest was accompanied by drinking alcohol, from which the man fell asleep. Then three of his guests aged 15, 18 and 19 stole clothes, shoes, household appliances and a screwdriver from his apartment. The guys divided the things of the victim and went home. The next morning, the man discovered the loss and contacted the police. The Zhodino city department initiated a criminal case against young people under Part 2 of Article 205 (theft committed by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code.

Another incident occurred in Borisov. On the evening of March 18, four teenagers aged 15 and 16 were drinking beer when a 50-year-old man walked past them. One of the guys asked him to smoke, but when he refused, he began to beat the victim. His friends joined in the beating. A neighbor of the beaten man saw what was happening and called out to the teenagers, who fled. The Borisov district department initiated a criminal case against young people under part 2 of article 339 (hooliganism committed by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code.

In the Molodechno region, a quarrel between lovers ended in a stabbing. On the evening of March 25, a 16-year-old resident of the village of Chist stabbed her 21-year-old boyfriend in the chest. The girl was frightened of the consequences of a rash act and called an ambulance. The Molodechno District Department initiated a criminal case against her under Part 1 of Article 147 (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code.

Investigators remind: insufficient parental control over the behavior of children and the rash actions of the latter often cause teenagers to commit crimes.
