19 December, MINSK . Sergei Gorokhov, HEAD of the Department for Law Enforcement and Prevention of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee, told at a press conference how citizens will be allowed to enter the places of festive festivities in the capital, a BELTA correspondent reports.


"A huge number of Christmas and New Year events are planned in the capital, more than 400 locations in total. On New Year's Eve in Minsk, the main events will be held at the site near the Sports Palace from 0.30 to 4.00. During the festive events, the Minsk City Executive Committee has decided to approve the sale of ALCOHOL in bulk only at the places where the main events are held, fairs near the Sports Palace, as well as at district sites. In order to prevent citizens in a state of intoxication from entering the place of festive festivities,alcohol intoxication , as well as with prohibited and restricted items, checkpoints will be organized . You can arrive at the event at the site near the Sports Palace through the checkpoint from the side of Pobediteley Avenue, Building No. 2, through the underground passage near the Galeria Shopping Center and directly in the Sports Palace area," said Sergei Gorokhov. He also added that separate checkpoints are provided for the disabled, veterans, and parents with young children. These checkpoints will be marked with an orange awning.

To prevent queues at the checkpoints,Law enforcement officers ask citizens to arrive at events in advance and limit themselves to having only the most necessary things with them. "In front of each checkpoint, there will be an information stand indicating the things that are prohibited from being brought in. This property can be left in a storage room. it will be located at 2 Pobediteley Ave., on the checkpoint side. Access to the event venue with pets, bicycles, and personal mobility devices will also be prohibited. It is allowed to bring non-alcoholic liquids in transparent plastic containers with a volume of no more than 0.5 liters," noted Sergei Gorokhov.

The head of the department also reminded that any unauthorized actions or public expression of socio-political opinions during mass events may be equated to an unauthorized mass event. An administrative process may be initiated against persons who violate this requirement.
