January 5, MINSK. Employees of the State traffic inspectorate from January 6 to 10, by means of covert and mixed control, will conduct a massive testing of dangerous sections of highways in the Minsk region. The event will be held in order to prevent accidents, as well as to suppress offenses on the part of road users, BelTA learned from the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
According to statistics, the number of accidents and offenses by road users increases on weekends and weekends.
Law enforcement officers will monitor the compliance of road users with traffic rules. Violations related to the main causes of road accidents with serious consequences will be under close attention. These are violations by vulnerable road users, especially at night, failure to provide an advantage to pedestrians, driving while intoxicated and (or) not having the right to drive, violations of high-speed traffic, rules for transporting passengers, primarily minors.
Car owners who do not comply with the established requirements for the operation of winter tires, the use of lighting equipment at night and in conditions of insufficient visibility will not be left without attention.
In addition, the department reminded that from January 1 to January 10, a set of preventive measures "There is no place for a drunk on the road" is taking place. "Dear drivers, do not overshadow the bright holiday of Christmas, be prudent and avoid drinking ALCOHOL while driving. Pedestrians and cyclists should also not risk their lives and appear near the roadway in a state of intoxication," the department added.
