January 21, MINSK. The Metropolitan State Traffic Inspectorate found a driver who ran into a pedestrian and fled the scene of an accident. BelTA was informed about this by the UGAI GUVD of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

"Inspectors of the Rapid Response and Search Department of the Traffic Police Department of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee identified the culprit of the traffic accident that occurred on January 20 at about 9.00 am on Zaslavskaya Street. The driver of a Volkswagen car hit an elderly woman and fled the scene," the State traffic inspectorate said.

During the operational-search activities, law enforcement officers established the identity of the driver of the foreign car. it turned out to be a man born in 1959. At the time of his arrest, he was in a state of alcoholic intoxication . The man was taken for examination, during which 2.69 ppm of ALCOHOL was detected in his body.

"The perpetrator of the accident denies the offense, but there is evidence of his involvement in this road accident," the traffic police emphasized.
