Photo by the Investigative Committee of the Mogilev Region July 31, Mogilev. On July 13, a fatal road accident occurred in the Mogilev District near the village of Foino, in which three people died. The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Mogilev Region is investigating a criminal case on this incident. This was reported to BELTA by the official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Mogilev Region, Tatyana Starosotnikova.
The driver of the Volkswagen, overtaking a passing truck, lost control of the vehicle. The foreign car drove into the oncoming traffic lane, where
it collided with an Audi.
It was established that a 43-year-old resident of Mogilev was driving the Volkswagen. A chemical toxicological examination showed that she had more than 2 ppm of
ALCOHOL in her blood. An
investigative task force worked at the scene of the incident for more than 10 hours. An inspection was conducted, witnesses were questioned, a number of examinations were ordered, the conduct of which was entrusted to the State Forensic Expertise Department of the Mogilev Region.
Investigators found out that on that day the family was returning from their dacha in a Volkswagen.
The children were transported in child restraints.
The actions of the Mogilev resident were classified under Part 5 of Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Belarus. With the prosecutor's
sanction , a preventive measure in the form of detention was applied to her.
"After analyzing the collected materials, the investigators came to the conclusion that the woman, being in a state of
intoxicated , in the area of an accident-prone section, showing criminal negligence, began to overtake. While performing a maneuver with a significant excess of speed, she lost control of the steering wheel and allowed an uncontrolled skid, - noted Tatyana Starosotnikova. - As a result, the car drove into the oncoming traffic lane, where it collided with the Audi." The
34-year-old husband of the Volkswagen driver and her 5-year-old son died in the accident. The woman herself and her 3-year-old daughter, as well as two 18-year-old guys from the Audi, were hospitalized. A few days later, the passenger of the second foreign car died in the hospital.
